| I'm going home for about 4 weeks, and without a cellphone it's next to impossible to coordinate things with friends properly, and I'd like to just get one for the time that I'm there. Anybody out there got any ideas? |

Hey there,
Why don't you get a pay-as-you-go cheapy phone and a phone card?
Once you're done with the phone, you can keep it as a backup for the next time you're in ON, or give it away to a phone-less friend in need.

Yeah, I remember seeing those in Wal-Mart or even at the checkout of some convenience stores/gas stations. They're pretty big now.
Of course, the phone is a piece of crap--but who cares. Its only four weeks. You can buy cards with minutes on them for when you run out, too. Plus, none of that crappy contract nonsense.
Make sure you get rid of it properly when you're done, though. Either give it to someone, or keep it for later use. There are a lot of cellphones in landfills these days. |
