I am going to assume that the Korean beef didnt win due to the lack of results in this..

https://www.koreaherald.co.kr/SITE/data/html_dir/2007/07/07/200707070041.asp

Quote:
Lotte Department Store held a sampling event for domestic and imported beef at its major branches across Seoul yesterday to test consumers' preference for the meat as Korea widens its market to U.S. beef imports.

The Lotte Department Store branches conducted a blind-fold taste test of cooked beef from Korea, the United States, and Australia to help the retailer better understand Koreans' attitudes toward imported beef, Lotte said.

It said the event was aimed at raising public awareness of the choices of beef products available in the market, and helping them compare the taste of the meat from different regions.

Opponents of market liberalization, particularly farmers, have been adamantly opposed to free trade agreements, especially the one Korea recently signed with the United States.

They fear that a flood of cheaper yet high-quality imported products would drive local farmers out of business.

Other foreign competitors, such as Australia and New Zealand, also fear losing the share of market they secured while American beef was banned.

Since January 2006, Seoul has allowed only boneless beef from cattle under 30 months old to be imported from the United States. Washington has been pushing Seoul to ease its import rules so that U.S. beef could regain its market share.

Korea was the third-largest market for American beef before the import ban in December 2003, which followed the confirmation of a case of mad cow disease in Washington State.

The U.S. Democratic Party, which took control of Congress this year, has repeatedly stressed that a successful passage of the bilateral trade accord hinges on Korea providing wider access to its beef market.

Did they really wear blindfolds during this taste test?

Maybe they got confused about who was supposed to wear the blindfolds, and that's why there are no results.

I wish I would've known about that test so I could've participated. What a euphoric experience it would be to stand around with an enormous crowd of blindfolded ajummas smacking on various cuts of beef. I love eating beef.

They should just have the soju and beer samples nearby. Then it doesn't even matter which beef you eat. The little kids will be too drunk to care.
