Hi all,
Hopefully this question hasn't been asked before, althought I suspect it probably has. I tried to do a search but it kept giving me a blank screen for some reason.
Getting to the point, is it hard to find a short term job as an inexperienced English instructor in Korea? I have an F4 visa and a 4 year degree from a major Canadian University. I've also taken the GMAT with essay and verbal scores in the 95th and 97th percentile respectively, so perhaps there is potential to tutor GMAT students?
Basically I have about 6 months to kill before I start my MBA (back in Canada) and I've always wanted to try living in Korea. I'm not looking for insane money, just enough to to live off of. My main worry is that I won't be able to find work because I have no connections and I cannot stay there for a full year. Should I just go there and then try to find a job? Or perhaps try recruiters?
Actually I know this is outside the normal topics of this forum, but is it hard to find a non-teaching job? My background is in marketing.

F4 AND speak Korean you will have no problems finding a job in your chosen field but they would probably want you for more than 6 months.
F4 and only speak English, take a job and the first hakwon on your street.
You are NOT tied to your employer so you are free to quit at the first sign of crap from your boss and head to the next hakwon down the street.
If you are good you can poach your hakwon's students and build a nice client base of private students to make some excellent coin before you head home. |

You can get a goshiwan for about 300k per month.

| I have a different visa and years of experience, but have no problem finding short-term jobs. Check out a school (perhaps a unigwon) that runs on a program of multiple short sessions. |
