My co-worker was upset today because the Transformers movie had no Hyundai cars. She said if there is a part 2, she will not watch it if there are no korean cars in it. I haven't seen the movie yet, so I just stared at her with a dazed look. I guess having it shown in korea first means it should have korean cars. I dont know. |

My girlfriend mentioned that they all seemed to be Chevrolets and GMC. Looks like one company found it to be a lucrative promotional vehicle (no pun intended).
No, I take that back...the movie producers must have just ignored Korean cars because they dislike Korean culture and don't want to help Korea. Who would want to waste their money on a film that is anti-Korean like that?
Anyway, North Korea is mentioned in the movie. |

After reading the title, I was hoping you'd finish the sentence.

Hmmmm I think we can fix that. In the sequel just have a Hyundai SUV with terrible manners, hates the Descepticons because he feels mechanically superior to them, and is insecure and feels that all the Decepticons are going to steal the Autobot women. |

And summarily proceeds to fall to pieces after about 3 years of use. Cheap though. |

This story is just too (fill this in please). Who on earth won't watch a movie just because there's no car from his/her country unless s/he is mentally ill? That's just too much. |

IIRC virtually all of the vehicles shown were GM products, from the Chevy Camaro to the Pontiac Solstice. Optimus Prime, however, was a Peterbilt (unrelated to GM).
Sorry, I'm a vehicle nerd. |

Are you fricking kidding me? When I read this I knew exactly the type who would make such a comment. As an example I show the well known Youtube video called Where the hell is Matt in class. The video is of a guy in his 30s is doing a little happy dance in countries all over the world that he has visited (including Japan). It is just to get the kids interested in my lesson on travel terms.
I had a Korean teacher tell me I should not show the video in class because the man in the video did not come to KoreaI just chuckled about it like it was a joketurns out she was serious! To the credit of the rest of the Korean teaching staff, they told her she was wrong (or at least talked her down from making a fuss).
I have a few more stories along those linesI dont know where the OP is from or where you arebut I am in the countryside and I (figuratively) know well the women of who he speaks. |

hahahahahahahahahaa.... aside from the pic of the tennis player this also made my day.. hahahaha...
I totally understand what type of people you are talking about.. hahaha..
*wipes tears*
ok.. umm... Transformers rocked. too Micheal Bay-ish, but Stephen Spielberg sorta saved it a bit.. but I loved the movie.
GMC threw in a whole bunch of product placement and they're using transformers for their ads on their websites.. so.. that explains that part..
I really liked the new Camaro.. hehe..
but yeah, I totally understand how some people would go that way.. haha
good one.

lol. This thread is funny. Anyways....
GM made a deal with Michael Bay. The movie needed cars that they could trash and what not (3 of each to be exact) and GM agreed to provide them in return for 'exclusive product placement'.
Look it up if you think I am jivin. |

No need. It seems pretty obvious.
Oh, and the story of the dancing man is pretty funny. |

The only way Hyundai's would ever make it into a movie about giant robots would be if they made a movie about those ever so craptastic Go-bots
