So I posted this in the other forum but I'm needing advice ASAP so here goes it again.

So I have posted this before but the search function sucks on this website so here goes again because the day of reckoning is approaching.

I had to get a new passport because my old one had run out of space. I know that I can take the 2 passports to the immigration office and get it "transfered" to my new one. So here are my questions:

1. How long does it take? I'm sort of hoping they can do it right there with no fuss or muss.

2. How much does it cost?

3. I am staying at my school and resigning in September will I be able to just renew this visa or will I have to do a visa run and get a new one?

Thanks in advance for all your helpful knowledge.

i got a new passport last year.

just go to the immi office and show it to them. they will change the info in the computer. there was no fee.

the stamp in the passport is just a formality. they did not re-stamp my new passport with the visa... my current E2 visa is 5 years old.

the arc card is what counts after the initial E2 visa is processed by immigration.

failure to report a new passport within 30 days (not sure of the days?) can result in a fine.

my wife got a new passport and received a "Warning" for not informing immi... (she is F4)

It takes about 15-20 minutes AFTER you get to the counter.

2. How much does it cost?

It is free. Just fill in the application form for change of particulars.

3. I am staying at my school and resigning in September will I be able to just renew this visa or will I have to do a visa run and get a new one?

If you are staying at your current school you can simply EXTEND your current period of sojourn. The fee is 30k won for the extension and 50k for the NEW multi-re-entry permit (assuming you plan to take a holiday sometime in that year).

Thanks in advance for all your helpful knowledge.

A follow up:

Can I do this at the Suwon office (I'm assuming I can)?

Does anyone know what time this place opens?

Does anyone have a link for the paper I have to fill out so that I can fill it out before I go and save some time?

Thanks

You mean the passport thing or the extension thing?

The passport thing:
You can do it all at the Suwon office. The paper is the generic one at the counter and takes about 2 minutes to fill in. Do it while you are waiting to get your turn at the counter.

They are open 9:00-4:30 for counter service, 2nd floor.

The extension thing:
You can do it all at the Suwon office. The paper is the generic one at the counter and takes about 2 minutes to fill in.
You will also need:
Your ARC
Your passport
A new contract with the new completion dates clearly indicated.
Your schools registration paper,
The schools guarantor paper

They used to do extensions while you wait.

They are open 9:00-4:30 for counter service, 2nd floor.
