How hard is it to clear CUSTOMS in Korea's Airport? Does anyone know what they would allow into the country? I'm bringing some prescription, over-the-counter drugs, and asian medicine with me. Will that be a problem with customs? What about blank CDs for storing pix files.....DVD movies....picture files on CD?....What about locking your luggage? Good idea or bad?

Hard to say. But every time I have come through and tried to declear something, I have just been waved through.

The first time pre 9/11 I was carrying a knife that I had forgotten about and wanted to declear it. Couldn't find anybody to deal with the matter so just walked out.

2nd and 3rd times it was over the limit alchohol, both times told to ignore it and just go out. I don't know if language problems was the reason.

I've never had a problem...just a wave-through. Why would you bring blank CDs? They're readily available here!

It IS the "Hub of Asia" after all!! (Sorry! Couldn't resist!! Laughing )

I asked the girl if I needed to declare my laptop. She said no, looked at my form and waved me through.

I carried prescription medication through ... with a doctors letter that verified that it was for me ... Which was what I was supposed to have to get it out of Australia ... and was waved through ... They didn't even look at it ... But I would still make sure that I had the documentation to verify that at least the prescription medication was for me ... and make sure that none of it is on the not allowed in the country list ...

But for airport security ... nothing ever shocked me as the contrast between Paris and Heathrow / Singapore / Sydney when I flew through each of them in a short period of time in early 2003 ... in the middle of the SARS crisis and supposedly tightened airport security ... I felt safer in the tighter security of Heathrow and Singapore than I did Paris ...

I would be prepared for them to question it ... and make sure to declare it ... but at the same time not suprised if they don't ... And just make sure that you don't have anythihg they don't allow ... Check the website to be sure ...

I tried to declare my laptop and the man just stared at me.

Nobody pays any attention in Korea.
