|
|
Hi guys,
I am currently looking for teaching positions in S Korea, and specifically I want to teach in a public school. When job advertisements say
Public school positions in XYZ
Do they actually mean that they are recruiting for that school and can therefore get you an iterview through themselves. Or does it mean that they simply give you advice on how to apply for a public school position and then only after you have sent your documents to Korea do the government decide where you are going to be placed ?
Alot of places seem to say they have public school positions and then when you enquire about them they suggest you fill out an EPIK form or something similar. I.e. the recruitment company is a 3rd party to the government application process, rather than to the school itself. Is this right, and always the case ?
I hope you can clear this up for me
Thanks ! |

SMOE public schools use WorkNPLay and Footprints recruiting, as well as 2 others I can't remember right now. The recruiters do the initial interview, then send you to SMOE. |

The recruiter I used advertised public school positions. I sent the recruiter my basic information. After an exchange of a couple of e-mails verifying my basic qualifications the recruiter gave me a list of 5 cities to choose from. I picked one.
I had to then fill out all of the standard EPIK paperwork. In the end I was placed in the city I had picked from the list. I had to complete the same process as all of the EPIK teachers the recruiter was available as a guide who spoke English well. |
