I know this show has been talked about before here...but i received some insight recently.
THE SHOW IF A FAKE!
I was watching and episode with my gf the other night. This guy was following this girl around in a very obscure manner. You know, hiding behind tea-towels and trailing her from 7 feet back. I said to the GF "this chick is going to see this guy!" and she says he is acting!
That is right folks...in case you didn't know this, they are all actors. It is scripted and the faces are blurred to make it more real. Well done Scandal directors, you had me fooled!
According to my GF, and I heard this before, it is illegal to cheat against your spouse in this country. Hence, if this were real, these folks would have to deal with more than just a camera crew busting in when they bump uglies....and here i was all along holding out to maybe get a shot of some action!

"Illegal" illegal? As in criminal, not just legal grounds for divorce? Is it a misemeanor, a felony, or the equivalent of a traffic ticket? How often is the law actually enforced?
Never heard of the show, I'll have to look it up. |

Oh yeah, check this drama out! Good stuff...until i found out it was a fake.
Yep, you can go to jail if you get busted for cheating. Amazing eh, with all the *beep* houses in this country. It is also grounds for immediate divorce. My GF tells me it is to protect the woman....
Great policing i would say....im sure all the lads in the anmas are single men! BAHHHHHHHH!

I was told that the stories are based on real stories (with obvious dramatic editing), but they have actors on the show to "re-tell" the story... |

It's illegal, but generally a wife who has been cheated on will have no recourse, because if her husband goes to jail, who will support her with child payments or whatever? |

That's where the lawsuit comes in: suing the person screwing your spouse.
As for the illegality, the police will not do anything UNTIL you file for divorce. If you don't file for divorce, you cannot sue the lover nor arrest the offending spouse. |

I hope those actors are getting paid a decent amount, then. Some of them get smacked around pretty badly. My personal fave is that grovelling on their knees thing they do. It's like someone informed them that "grovel like a pathetic child" is the MO for someone in that situation. |
