|

I asked my boss to call the internet company and set up an appointment. he said it was 37000 a month with a one year contract and 42000 without a one year contract. that seemed higher than other people had told me before. Are rates going up? Is there a set up fee? How many companies offer service? Is it cheaper with telephone service? Did you pay anything at the time of set up? |

I pay a total of 27,000 won a month for both Internet and Cable TV.
I know from what was said at the time I started that this is the amount based on a 3 year contract ... which someone from school has taken out ... but that I pay directly myself ...
The figures that you have quoted are much higher that I would have expected even for a one year contract ...
It is definitely worth looking further ... I would not expect to pay that much just for Internet ....and may end up being better as a bundle with other things you might want like TV or Phone .. You can do at least some searching on options with this on the Internet... Some of the providers do have at least some English information on their sites ...
What options are available to you can depend on where you are located ... If you let us know in which part of Korea you are located ... someone who lives there may be able to tell you what they know ..

I paid about 40 bucks a month for both cable TV and internet service. I had to pay the whole year in advance plus some extra for this cable box that I don't need (got a new TV) but I will get some $ back at the end when I give the box back. |

This is some pretty personal stuff. Wouldn't want anyone knowing what you pay for internet service. Jesus, this isn't a poll about jock strap size. |

I got lucky and bought an LG XNote laptop. It came with a wireless feature so I haven't been paying anything for the past 6 months. |

35 a month for cable and internet. i'd imagine it's a better deal than trying to get them hooked up separately. |

31,900 won basic cable and internet. I can not read Korean but I think it is 24,000 for the ISP, 5,000 for the cable TV and 2,900 tax. I am in a mid-sized city in an otherwise rural province. |

Hagwonnewbie, I have the same deal as you; I got a one-year contract. I didn't opt for a three-year contract because my school isn't in charge of my bills and won't take it over, so I guess in comparison to other deals it's a high price. But when I compare it to what I paid in the States, it's exactly the same. |
