Although I am no fan of GW Bush--I am strongly against his war in Iraq and I think he has made a mockery of the Constitution--there really is no other answer he could have given regarding the Taliban and hostages. The US and Afghanistan cannot make deals with terrorists.

This is personally sad, as a person I work with has ties with the hostages--his nephew's wife and her younger brother are two of the hostages.

I'm having people over for a dinner party. I'm serving some nice spicy asian prawns and some other assorted seafood. Not all the dishes are spicy. So, I am wondering if I should go with the Gewurztraminer which we all know, goes exceptionally well with Asian dishes and pork (no pork tonight though) or possible a Pinot Grigio which suits seafood so well. I'm also knocking around the idea of going with a nice Riesling as it compliments spicy food so well. Comments? Suggestions?

I don't understand why they make light rum. When doing a tour of a rum distillery recently, I discovered that all rum has the caramel color when made but that a substance is added to some rum that takes all the color out. Light rum and regular rum is actually the same thing! One just has the color taken out. Why do they bother? Does colored rum offend some people or something?
