I can't speak for the reputation of Kids College.

Talk to the foreign teachers before you work at a school and ask them questions. It would be helpful to have knowledge of what to look for in contracts.

Labor Laws

( 1 ) http://english.molab.go.kr
( 2 ) Click on Resources
( 3 ) Click on Rules and Regulations
( 4 ) Click on 1 Labor Standards Act

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Questions to ask foreign teachers

1 ) What are thework hours? (start time - stop time - breaks).

2 ) How many classes per day, week, month? Not hour many hours per month. 30 classroom hours can mean anything from 1350 -1800 minutes per week standing in front of the class. The difference can be up to 7.5 hours in front of the class each week.

3 ) Does your employer ALWAYS pay on time?

4 ) Does your employer pay you overtime wages earned or avoid it with creative book keeping? Yes = Red Flag

5 ) Do you get credit for classes on the national holidays or do you get the day off but still have to work your 120 hours before you get overtime?

6 ) When did your employer provide you with a health insurance card? No = Red Flag

7 ) Does your employer pay into pension? No = Red Flag

8 ) Do you get paid vacation days (paid annual leave) stated in your contract? No = Red Flag

9 ) When and how do you get your holidays?

10 ) What extra stuff do you really have to do mentioned or not in the contract?

11 ) Is the school having financial troubles? Yes = Don't work there

12 ) Does your employer have a history of firing employees for the sole purpose of not providing severance pay, last months wages, and a plane ticket home? Yes = Don't work there

13 ) Does your employer have a history of being physically abusive or verbally abusive? Yes = Don't work there

14 ) Does your employer have a history of "pocketing " deductions for taxes, pension and medical insurance? Yes = Don't work there

15 ) Ask questions about the apartment:

(a) Did your employer provide you with the furnishings stated in your contract?

(b) What were the overall conditions of your apartment excluding furnishings?

16. What are the English speaking abilities of the Korean Teachers and your employer like?

17. What are the main attractions of the city the school is in?

18. Are there banks near the school?

Kids College is a rotten hogwan chain that cheats many foreign teachers out of pay, benefits, and almost NEVER follows the contract. You WILL be cheated. Stay away.
