|
|
I just have a question. My hagwon had me open two bank accounts at the beginning of my contract, one being, to have a direct deposit bank account and the second one, which I put in my name, I have no ties with. I don't have the bank book, pin numbers, cards, etc. Why did my school insist upon two bank accounts if I only have access to one? What are they doing with the other bank account? |

Well if it is money laundering and tax evasion, should it be reported? Am I in some kind of danger if they get caught? It was part of their policy report, that I open up two bank accounts and it's one of those sweet after school jobs at a public school with 3 hours teaching a day... didn't want to pass it up. |

im doing the same thing, its shit i wouldint trust them and demand your bank book back, also they should give you a management fee reciept saying that you are depositing money into their account or else you can get screwed hard at the endo fo the year for tax. i called labor board before aboutt his and all they said is that you dont have to do it and that all money that goes into your account is yours. |

It wouldn't be a bad idea to close down both accounts and open an account at another bank. You will only need your passport, ARC, and the bankbook you have. Tell the banker you lost the other bankbook.
In addition, it would be in your best interest to find another job. What proof do you have that the school is doing this? This could be used in your favor. |

If you were back in your home country, would you open two bank accounts for your employeer?
Well then, why do it in korea?
Gesh! Close the accounts and open another at a different bank and give the account number to the school and they can start depositing your pay their. |
