It was great. The beach is crowded and it's loud at night, but you could camp if you wanted to. Most tents were day tents. There is also camping behind the Mud Skin Care center.
Many of the hotels are crap in that area. They overcharge during the festival and don't even give you a yo to sleep on. You only get a thin, thin quilt. |

My friends went, and unfortunately one fractured a vertebrae in her back. She had to be taken to hospital in Seoul by ambulance. It was on the waterslide which was designed to be about a 10 foot drop into water. The worst part is that 10 minutes before she went, another person(male I believe) went down the waterslide and fractured his back. He apparently is in hospital in Gangnam and requires surgery. Scary. The city of Boryeong has contacted my friend and says they will compensate her, but who knows how much or how long it will take for them to do so! The doctor recommended 4 weeks of rest, but she is afraid of losing her job and so only wants to take a week! |

Good God. So much for health and safety standards.
Too bad about your friend. |

No. Just show up and park your butt wherever. However, there are certain parts of the beach that have umbrellas and beach chairs that you'd need to pay for in order to use. |

Boryung was a blast. I don't know what these old fogies on this site
were whinging about. Most people were drinking and I didn't see
anyone getting too wild, rude or out-of-hand. |
