What are the three best large chain schools to work for in South Korea? It would be good to know at least three to pick from. If we could have a vote here then we can look them over and see which schools get the most votes. Thanks, David Laughing

There are NONE.

Franchised schools operate independently from the head office and management goes from bad to he11-in-a-handbasket.

Those few chain schools that are operated from the head office are at best run like the individual managers private fiefdoms and because he only handles the day to day operations he has no real control over the *beep* that affects you in a negative way (like housing problems, salary issues, etc). He just defers it to head office where it gets ignored.

Treat EACH school as a singular entity and then complete your due diligence on the school as it exists NOW (not how it was 3 years ago when Joe Shmoe and Donna Bluehair worked there).

If you don't do your own due diligence then I can promise you with a 100% guarantee that you will get burned and cheated out of some or all of your legally required benefits including but not limited to: no NHIC medical, no NPS pension, no overtime, and no sick days.

.

Stay away from all chains. The head offices and Hogwan Associations tutor them on how to cheat teachers. You have no chance to get even a decent deal from any hogwan chain.

While there probably are some decent franchised schools out there, do you really want to take the chance?

I am usually very optimistic about such things but even I would avoid chain schools in Korea.
