Well, the lab test results indicate that the only steroid in his system was the synthetic testosterone that Dr. Astin prescribed for him. He had ten times the normal level in his system. He also tested positive for the anti-anxiety drug Xanax and the painkiller hydrocodone. No excessive amount of alcohol was found in his system, but his wife, Nancy, had like double the blood-alcohol level for DUI purposes. She also tested positive for Xanax, hydrocodone and the painkiller hydromorphone.
The physician in charge of the testing, Dr. Kris Sperry, also reported that the boy appeared to have been sedated when he was asphyxiated, and Benoits wife had a therapeutic level of sedatives in her body...

Holy Crap! That's a lot of drugs to be sailing around someone's system. |

Hate to say I told you so, but wrestling fans who think anyone in the WWE with a modicum of muscle tone isn't juicing, is living in a fantasy world.
As I said before, Benoit's head looked like a zit that needed to be popped. Ironically, Eddie Guerrero had the same kind of look before he died as well.
The Ultimate Warrior did too, but he quit before they did him in for good.

The WWE's drug-testing ("wellness") policy has huge loopholes in it. For one thing, no matter how many drugs are in a wrestler's system, it's considered that they've passed the test as long as their level doesn't exceed what it was the first time that they were tested. Knowing this, wrestlers often binge on large amounts of steroids and growth hormones before the benchmark first test so they can keep a substantial amount in them and still pass. They also can pass with dangerously high levels of drugs if they have a prescription from a doctor to treat some specific ailment.
There are a number of crooked doctors that service them. Although Benoit was supposedly undergoing "testosterone replacement therapy" (caused by prolonged use of steroids) he was prescribed an amount that was many times more than what he needed, and he regularly got enough to supply a number of other wrestlers...
Most insiders - including former wrestlers like "the Ultimate Warrior", "Konan", Brian Alvarez, and Mark Mero ("Johnny B Badd") think that the WWE will change its policy of indirectly encouraging steroid use only if it's forced to do so by government regulators (like the state athletic commissions that screen MMA athletes in the U.S...)
Here are a couple links discussing the issue: http://www.gerweck.net/news/1184442964.shtml

Well, Vince McMahon himself - at age 62 - is obviously on the juice himself judging by his size and physical involvement in big matches.
When body-builder/wrestler Chris Masters got off steroids for a while and lost much of his artificial bulk, the WWE script writers poked jokes at him, and he was no longer given a promotional push.
And current champ, Bobby Lashley, now over 270 pounds of sheer muscle, competed as an amateur just a few years ago at the 170 weight division.

Also, Benoit's doctor was "treating" him for low levels of testosterone. How do we treat this? Steroids. Well, that's one treatment. Even if Benoit tested positive in WWE tests, he was under doctor's care. Quite the cocktail in his and her systems. |

I find both WWF "Wrestling" , and the people who watch it equally sad and pathetic. What freaks me out is that my brother loved this crap when he was about 9 or 10.
I wish I knew wht the guy's wife was being "treated" for. |

I grew out of it when I was 13 or so. Nowadays, I'll watch it once or twice a year when there's nothing else on TV. |

Mehhh...I still enjoy it at 33. I train about 5 days a week myself so it's quite inspiring to see guys a lot older than me still in excellent shape. I admire the atleticism and balls required to do well in it but at the end of the day i'd rather watch a good K1 fight than a wrestling match. |

I became a wrestling fan probably because it was the first show I ever saw on TV. My grandmother (father's mother) loved wrestling, and at about age 3 or 4 I became like glued to the set watching exciting mayhem in the ring ...
By the time I was around 10 or 11 I used to watch boxing regularly, but I got sick to my stomach once when I saw a fighter practically knock another guy's swollen-shut eye out of his skull...
I preferred to watch wrestling because, while it had a lot of combative action and colorful characters, nobody seemed to get really hurt...
The WWE handled Eddie Guerrero's death in typically bad taste, but at least made a show of reforming their drug policy. The Chris Benoit tragedy was the last straw, I think, for many parents who now won't let their young kids watch what has increasingly become a sleazy spectacle of sexy young models and bulked up steroid freaks who unnecessarily harm themselves and others.
Their ratings have dropped significantly since Benoit's passing, and the WWE has canceled their upcoming tour of Canadian cities (especially after McMahon was quoted refering to Benoit as a "monster" ...) |

remember when Brock Lesner was wrestling? Just so fucking big, now in K1 or Pride (can't remember) looks a lot smaller! Chris Benoit used to be in the small guy fights during WCW days, saw him on tv a few weeks ago, twice as big than 5 years ago |

Yeah, Lesnar is smaller but I believe that's because the max weight for k-1 or Pride is something like 265lbs. Anyone above that weight has to be in a "featured" fight and can't actually be a title holder... I think... |

5 days a week? Doing what? If it's weight training, that might be a bit much. I'd take a week off once in a while if I were you. Best way to beat the plateau (and you plateau quickly if you lift weights 5 times a week). |
