I hope people will add to this thread to make it an interesting one. What don't you see in Korea that you see in other countries?

My observation is that there are almost no street musicians in Seoul and around the country. In North America and Europe, especially in touristy areas, you can often see someone playing a guitar or flute with an instrument case open for donations. But in Seoul, you only see beggars trying to get hand-outs. Why is that? Question

They're too bali-bali to see anything in the street Wink

No, but seriously, I thought about this too. Maybe its because Korean streets aren't really made for strolling quietly, looking at lovely things, sitting on park benches. They are merely concrete walkways, a means of getting from A to B. There really isn't time or location to 'enjoy' on the way......

Well, not anywhere around where I love. Perhaps Insadong, but thats for tourists aye.

Don't you guys ever notice the evangelical christians with guitars and microphones singing about Jesus? I see them a lot.

Anyway, my friend tried to play guitar and sing in the street. He was harrassed and told to be quiet by many ajosshis.

Funny being told to be quiet in a street in Korea!

I like that their aren't a million beggars harrassing you for change.
I've never been to India, but San Francisco was pretty bad for that!

All you can eat buffets everywhere.

I guess that's why so many people back home weigh 250 pounds and think they are just normal size.

Way too many fat tubs and lard a$$es in the States!

I see a lot of musicians in or around subway stations. I think it is regulated by the authorities though.

Checkout Seoul Station or Dongdeamun.

I don't see people out walking big dogs. Seems like big dogs are confined to the yard, and they aren't that big, actually. I'd just love to see someone out walking a Great Dane or an Irish Wolfhound.

When I took my Shar Pei out for walks, some ppl would cross the street to avoid me....

Don't see too many joggers here.

I think it'd be cool to have more libraries here like we have back home. I spend a lot of money on books here. Then again, I don't think my town library had a foreign books selection, so I guess it's moot.

Never seen an outdoor skating rink. Maybe it's not cold enough for one. Dunno.
