Super nerdy, but where can I find the 3.5 DM and player guide? Doing a "board game club" at camp and I'll give good old DnD a shot.

Hard to find the stuff in country. I looked for it years back. You might(probably) need to order online.

There is a place in the tunnel under the building NEXT to the old terminal building at Yongsan that stocks DnD stuff (12-16 sided dice, players guides, etc). There is/was also a place in the terminal building (3rd floor next to the Microsoft dealer) that had DnD stuff.

to get there, walk out of Yongsan station, turn right, go towards the rail yard, turn right again and you should see the pedestrian overpass over the rail yard. You will also see a large blue building. The pedway leads to the blue building. You will enter on the 3rd floor. Go straight ahead and the guy is in the corner shop in front of you.

If he doesn't have what you want, go down to the 2nd floor, and find the pedway across the parking lot to the next building. Exit the pedway, go down the stairs to street level. Turn left. You will see a tunnel under the building that is full of phone shops. Walk another 50 feet and you will see another tunnel down.

Go into there and the DnD game place is at the far end of the tunnel on the left hand side. They also have lots of stuff for other RPGs.

Hope that helped.

On this note, has anyone ever tried to play DnD with Koreans? Do they *get it*?

If you can use "Warcraft" or "Diablo" as your tool to get the explanations out, "Same but different" then they will "get it" and can get into it.

There's a Warcraft d20 game actually, might be better off just using it instead. There's actually a rather old Diablo one, but for sure I know Warcraft is kickin around. Problem with the Warcraft game is it might require the use of the 3.0 / 3.5 rule books anyways, don't recall exactly.

And thanks for posting those instructions, I'm going to check out Yongsan see what's up for my DnD goodness!

I think it's pretty gay to post, on the internet mind you, about a game being gay.

Anyway, I think it's perfect for ESL. You imagine, you make a story, you act, things die. Sounds good to me.

If you find out tell me. Those shops would probrubly sell those lead minitures from Lord of the Rings or The Battle of Waterloo. I used to love painting those things and making some kind of a battle scene. I used to do it as a kid and I've been getting a strong urge to do it again.

I prefered 'Shadowrun' myself. Gave up when I was 17 though. Gives you a lot of skills good for teaching though, and I've sometimes wondered if running RPGs for higher level speakers would be quite effective.

For those who were interested....

I went to Yongsan today (looking for a new quad core computer not specifically for game shops) and decided to check the game shops while I was conveniently there.

The one in the terminal building NO LONGER stocks DnD stuff.

The one in the tunnel DOES have some miniatures but ALSO - NO LONGER has DnD materials.

Now you can save yourself the trip and if I find a new spot I will let you know ASAP.

Man..I had a AD&D class about 7 years ago. Best class ever. If the kids are advanced, they will do well. If they can't speak...it'll be like a free talking class with a bunch of ABCers.
