I'm just wondering if any employers (except for dodgy hagwons) provide pre-paid airfare. It seems that most will reimburse it. As flying over there is not cheap this time of year, trying to find a reasonable flight is difficult. I can see why some employers might shy away from pre-paid flights. Has anyone gotten their flights pre-paid? If so, could you share some stories?
Thanks. |

With the exception of my public school I have ALWAYS had my airfare PREPAID by the employer. |

Paying your own airfare after signing a contract can very often be a bad sign.
Many hakwans hedge their bet in doing that. If they don't like 'whatever' about you ...
you're gone and they have paid the least possible.
If they are 'squeezing' you before you even start, could be a long and difficult year. |

My recruiter paid mine and had the hagwon reimburse him on it upon arrival. |
