My employers say that I must teach extra hours next week because students only had 19 class days. They say that in my contract, it says I must fullfill 20 teaching days per week. It also sayd that I get all National Holidays off.
The reason I would be doing these make up clases is because we had a National Holiday. But they are spinning it like I have to do it to fulfill my contract. B.S. Talk about a clusterfuck. In my contract it says I don't have to work on Saturdays, so therefore if there is a day off, it's not possible for me to fullfill 20 days a month. These make up classes still wouldn't make it 20 teaching days, just more hours on some specific days. What should I tell my employer? |

Tell him there were only 19 teaching days inthat month. Search ahead, I'm sure you can find a month with 21 teaching days.
August has 22. That's when he'll get his day back, plus one in the bank.
However, if he is just adding hours to days you already teach, and you are still teaching less hours than the maximum, then suck it up. |

They are over time hours. Part of it is that I get my 5 day vacation from July 30- August 3. I will only teach 19 days in July and 19 days in August. They want to schedule more classes in July and August because of this, which are beyond my contracted hours. |

I would point to the proposed HOURS totalling more than the maximum in your contract. |
