This is so typical, I just wonder when Al Sharpton will join the circus with his talk of a "Gay-Jewish Hollywood Conspiracy" to keep the Black man down.

LOS ANGELES -- "Grey's Anatomy" star Isaiah Washington said racism was a factor in his firing from the hit CTV series after he twice used an anti-gay slur.
Washington, who initially used the epithet during an onset clash with a co-star, told Newsweek magazine that "someone heard the booming voice of a black man and got really scared and that was the beginning of the end for me."
He tried to make amends by expressing remorse and volunteering to enter a counselling program to understand how the confrontation got out of hand, he told Newsweek.
"My mistake was believing that I would get the support from my network and all of my cast-mates across the board. My mistake was believing I could correct a wrong with honesty and sincerity," he said in the interview posted online Thursday.
"My mistake was thinking black people get second chances. I was wrong on all fronts," he said.
His unwillingness to act like a submissive black at work was part of the problem, Washington said.
"Well, it didn't help me on the set that I was a black man who wasn't a mush-mouth Negro walking around with his head in his hands all the time. I didn't speak like I'd just left the plantation and that can be a problem for people sometime," he said.
"I had a person in human resources tell me after this thing played out that `some people' were afraid of me around the studio. I asked her why, because I'm a 6-foot-1, black man with dark skin and who doesn't go around saying `Yessah, massa sir' and `No sir, massa' to everyone?
"It's nuts when your presence alone can just scare people, and that made me a prime candidate to take the heat in a dysfunctional family," he said.
ABC declined comment Thursday. In its one public statement regarding Washington, issued in January, the network said his actions were "unacceptable."
Washington, who used the slur against co-star T.R. Knight during a confrontation with Patrick Dempsey, repeated the word backstage at the Golden Globes in January in denying the first incident. A public apology to Knight and others followed. |

Ha!
I KNEW there was a reason I didn't watch that crappy TV show......
They're RACISTS!
Seriously...that guy is a complete douche and I will say again in big letters
AL SHARPTON IS NOT THE KING OF THE BLACK PEOPLE!
He's a douchebag who is scrounging off of all his clout back in the civil war era. I guess he needed a new "project" to work on after the Duke Rape case Fiasco. I swear if people ignore him like I do, that he'll go away sometime...Or die...
Trying to act like he (Washington) was being treated like a Black man in the 1950s is sooooo repugnant and vile. It shows how classless he is.
The weasel. |

Good thread, OW.
Homophobia, while a problem in American society at large, is an even bigger and seldom openly acknowledged problem in the black community at large.
Ambulance chaser Sharpton is a moron and a liar. He plays the race card faster than a Las Vegas card shark.

This is a typical knee-jerk, defensive posturing that unfortunately far too many blacks take on the moment their own prejudices are called into question.
I am so sick and tired of those in the black community who bellyache about racism at the drop of a hat. It reminds me of the scene in Crash, one of those rarely honest films, where the educated black man says to the huckster, "you embarass me; you embarass yourself." |

YOU ALSO CALLED JESSE JACKSON AN AMBULANCE CHASER.
WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU THINK "AMBULANCE CHASER" MEANS?
I SAY THIS BECAUSE IT SEEMS TO HAVE A DIFFERENT MEANING ON PLANET STEVIE THAN IT DOES IN CONTEMPORARY USAGE. |

Al Sharpton would do the world, and his familt, a big favour if he were to cut himself long and deep. |

Ambulance Chaser
A colloquial phrase that is used derisively for a person who is hired by an attorney to seek out negligence cases at the scenes of accidents or in hospitals where injured parties are treated, in exchange for a percentage of the damages that will be recovered in the case.
Also used to describe attorneys who, upon learning of a personal injury that might have been caused by the negligence or the wrongful act of another, immediately contact the victim for consent to represent him or her in a lawsuit in exchange for a contingent fee, a percentage of the judgment recovered.

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton swoop down to stir up trouble and to get a percentage of the publicity. A hit of racism and they swoop in for the soundbites and quotes in the local paper....
That sounds like an ambulance chaser to me... |

In other idiotic hollywood scapegoating news. Long story short: I'm drunk! But you are a racist! But as a bonus: Come on, my brother, you gonna let this racist get me for a crime!
CHP report: Fox called cop a 'racist'
Sat Jun 30, 3:31 AM ET
LOS ANGELES - Vivica A. Fox called a state patrol officer a "racist white cop" during her drunken driving arrest and repeatedly failed sobriety tests, according to an official report.
The 42-year-old actress, who is black, was pulled over in March after passing a California Highway Patrol officer who said her Cadillac was doing 80 mph and weaving in its lane on the Hollywood Freeway.
The officer noticed that Fox's eyes were red and watery and that she had a "strong odor" of alcohol, according to the report. After she failed sobriety tests, he arrested Fox for investigation of driving under the influence.
"Fox began to walk away, yelling at my partner, 'Brother, help a sister, are you going to let this racist white cop do this. ... Well, are you?'" according to the report.
The arresting officer is identified as Officer Laubscher and his partner as Officer De Alba.
Fox continued to speak in a "condescending manner" as she was placed in the patrol car, according to the report. She was taken to the Van Nuys jail, where a breath test was conducted but had to be stopped when she "burped quite loudly," the report said.
"The report stands on its own, and we can't comment further because it's a case pending before the courts," said Fran Clader, patrol spokeswoman.
Fox eventually was cited and released.
Breath tests indicated her blood-alcohol level was greater than .08 percent, California's legal limit for a driver. She was charged in March with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit. Her arraignment was scheduled for July 19.
If convicted, Fox could face six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
A call to Fox's manager, Lita Richardson, was not returned.
Fox said this month that she had made a "mistake" and would "hire a driver next time."
"It was an unfortunate judgment that I am taking full responsibility in," she said backstage at the Daytime Emmy Awards.
Fox has appeared in such films as "Kill Bill: Vol. 1," "Soul Food" and "Independence Day." |

This penalty is too small. People need to be afraid of VERY serious life consequences if they get behind the wheel of a car after drinking. I say this as a well-known lush who enjoys a drop or five nearly every evening.
You have a drink once in a while, take a cab home that night. You like to drink every day, sell your car and never drive. Just that simple. Fines for this should be like bail, set according to a person's ability to pay. They need to feel the pain for the risk they caused to honest people who never meant them any harm. People get a little money, I swear, first thing occurs to them is they buy their way out of problems when they eff up royally. That's not good. Makes The Bobster irked, more than a little.
Sorry, a rant sincerely felt but irrelevant in the present case.
Racism is a serious problem all around the world. Hollywood movie stars have very little cause to pull it out. She needs to apologize to the people in the world who really have to deal with it in a serious way. |

Oh well!
If we haven't eliminated homophobes at least we've de-fanged them.
I guess there's a big difference between the above and being beaten up for being gay. It's all progress. |

Uh-huh. This would certainly explain some of your less-than-lucid postings elsewhere.

She needs to, yes, but liberal mainstream media won't demand that she does. Nor will her job be in jeopardy--that higher standard is only for white folks. |

Um....It's Vivica A. Fox....What job? She hasn't been in a movie since Kill Bill. She's not exactly a 10 million dollar a movie A-Lister.....
Before trying to be snarky at least have your facts straight.... |

No!
Everyone in Hollywood is exactly the same, like Borg!
This is obviously some sort of liberal plot to make everyone black... and possibly gay. |
