Hey guys, just wondering if any of you can help me out here. I'm trying to figure out the baggage allowance for kroean air. I have 2 main suitcases, and i know that air canada allows one carryon and one personnal item like laptop bags etc. but i don't know about korean air. I am trying to figure out if i can take my small suitcase on wheels as a carryon along with my laptop back pack.. but i'm not having much luck trying to find anything out. so if any of you guys know could you let me know..thanks:D |

For hand carry you can have one bag (7kg) + laptop or camera bag + ladies purse.
Checkin allowances vary depending on where you are going.
Flights to/from north America you are allowed 2 bags of 23kg EACH.
Flights to other destinations allow 2 bags of 20kg TOTAL combined weight. |

I always see you can carry a lot more baggage from north america...
Why is that?
-i want to carry only 46 kgs of luggage as well. Why on other overseas flights are we limited to 20 kgs??? |

Now it's 50 lbs per checked bag, but beginning in September or October (can't remember which), it will be 70 lbs to and from NA. |

Do any of you think it's possible to talk them around this?
I'll have one bag that's about 25+kgs and a guitar case that'll be about 8kgs.
Certainly, I could plead with them to be reasonable yes? |

On their website, it says anything 23kg<->32kg is $25 USD extra. I'm not sure about over 32kg, but you can bet it'll be exorbitant. |

No. You cannot plead with airlines to be reasonable. They have baggage limitation weight requirements and do not change them. Pay the extra money and don't worry about it! |

i was lucky when i first flew to korea
korean air allowed me a purse, a small backpack plus laptop and two bags of duty free as carry on!!!
but as i was coming from nz i wasnt allowed much in terms of checked luggage
so i just had a huge travel pack for checked...
it should say on your e ticket or whatever what the allowances are....otherwise double check with travel agent/website or as another poster said just call
cheers
