Quote:

Let's go children of the fatherland,
The day of glory has arrived!
Against us tyranny's
Bloody flag is raised! (repeat)
In the countryside, do you hear
The roaring of these fierce soldiers?
They come right to our arms
To slit the throats of our sons, our friends!

Refrain

Grab your weapons, citizens!
Form your batallions!
Let us march! Let us march!
May impure blood
Water our fields!

Gosh, I sung the La Marseillaise in choir at a match when the French National Rugby team played in my home town in NZ. I still whistle it a little to myself when I am feeling feisty...
Happy day France!

I think so, back home I'd know it was Bastille Day by the erection of the large inflatable Eiffel Tower. Here I rely on various newsources to tell me.
