What would you say?
Healthcare appears to be Western Europe and Canada.
Work Hours - France has 35?
Vacation - I believe its Germany with 2-3 months of paid vacation a year.
Education - Just about anywhere in Europe - its free or close to free.
------------
Anyone else want to add? Also whats the situation with New Zealand and Australia? Any specifics on UK or Ireland as well? |

They have a fairly high cost of living, high barriers to entry (they already have 4 languages!) and, according to at least one study, they don't rate real high in health care.
And it is so F#@ing Swiss!
Australia is pretty well set up.
If I were looking for all of those things, and the possibility for an interesting life, Berlin would be my first choice. Or one of the newer E.U. members, once they get up to speed. |

I've lived in Canada, the US, Greece and spent extended periods of time in Brazil and South Korea. The best place I've lived in has been NYC; the worst was Canada.
Nonetheless, in my opinion, if I had a choice of places to go based on the topic's criterion, it would either be Australia (Sydney, Perth or Brisbane) or Singapore. In fact, I'm trying to position myself to move to either of those places within five years.
As for Switzerland, I think it's really overrated. The Swiss are arrogant and cold. It's atrociously expensive and salaries aren't THAT high. Not to mention, their VATs are much higher than those of their neighbors. Income taxes are good for Europe, though. |
