I arrived this morning to a building site in the school.
No power in the office. Dust covers everywhere and what looked like asbestos tiling on the floor (later checked to be gypsum).
A bloody Bobcat on the fourth floor knocking holes in the walls.
Had to have first day of camp in the gymnasium. |

Geez, sounds familiar. We had all of our bathrooms ripped out so we have no 'indoor' toilets for our summer camp. We get to use the port a pottie outside. Lovely. And we get to compete with all the noise as well.
To top it all off, I only had 3 students show up for the first class and 5 for the second. SO BORING. I hope more come tomorrow. |

Second day.
Take students to IT lab to research their field trip.
Computers turned on.
LAN connection not turning on.
All computers turn off.
Bobcat has knocked the fuse box from the wall.
Oh well. |

I just had the first day of my three-day intensive class for my grade 3 MS students. It was fantastic. I have two groups of five I alternate doing things with. They're happy, I'm happy, the A/C's working, we're all having fun, they really seem to be into the things I've prepared, and I really don't see how a summer 'camp' could be any better.
The whole class was my idea and I must say that I'm extremely fortunate to work at one of very few educational institutes in Korea where inititative pays off. |

Camp begins on the 25th here. School doesn't end until on the 20th. |

Why is there a bobcat in the school? Is it the school mascot, some kids pet that got loose, tomorrows petting zoo field trip, or just some wild animal that stuck in there somehow?
I have to deal with a hornets nest but a bobcat, sheesh. |
