My roommate and I are coming over to SK early next year. I've been reading these posts for a while, and it seems like all of the public school jobs for newbies are usually acquired by contacting someone by PM on here. Are there any public school teachers in the Hongdae area who wouldn't mind helping us find some killer jobs? I don't want to get screwed into a sub par Hagwan by a recruiter.

Thanks in advance!

contact footprints recruiting or worknplay recruiting

Hongdae PS are under SMOE. If you get a job with them, they place you where they need you in Seoul.

There are not really any public schools in Hongdae, after all it is just the area that surrounds the Hongik University. But there are public schools nearby, such as Ahyeon. So you could work in other areas and still live in Hongdae. I live in Hongdae and work in Gangnam, just get a scooter and you can ride anywhere in the city in a half hour or less.

Here's a good resource to find info on a perspective employer so that you hopefully do not end up working for a bad one, thereby likely ruining your Korean experience.
