I teach at the university near Seosan and was wondering if anyone here teaches in Seosan. If so, where do the foreigners meet? I am asking as I usually head straight to Seoul on weekends, and only go to Seosan when I need to shop at Lotte Mart. |

Mishlert,
If you check out the 501 western bar the majority of the Western teachers go there on friday nights. ( It is near the main round about in town basically opposite the KB bank branch. It is about 200 metres before the round about on the second floor .)
If you want some contact names PM me.
Regards |

I'm going into town tonight and will check out the 501 western bar.
Hope to meet some fellow ESL teachers there. |

OK, I no longer have my rooftop apartment in Seoul, so I will be planning to go to Seosan on weekends. Banana Bender mentioned 501 near KB, and I would like to know from anyone who is in Seosan if that's still the place where westerners frequent on weekends, or has the venue changed? |

I work in Daesan, so only 20 mins by bus to Seosan. Depending on how late the buses go, I'd be keen to go for a drink in Seosan, it's pretty boring here at times! Would be nice to see some more foreigners. |

I work in Hongseong which isn't that far from Seosan either, so that's an option. There's about 10 Western teachers in Hongseong. |

I was in Sosan a couple years back and liked it (mostly.)
It is small enough you will run into others on the street anyway...as for bars I used to to drink at a place called Led Zeppelin which is (was) across from 501. The owner oddly enough was a Deep Purple nut so you'd sit in the LZ listening to DP.... |

I just got here a few weeks ago. I live just inside Seosan (near the 24 hour sauna) but teach in a small school between Seosan and Daesan. The only foreigners I've seen so far have been a couple of Pakisatini's who work in one of the factories here. |

I work and live in Seosan. There's actually a decent amount of foreigners here, as many as 50 I've heard, but you definitely don't see them walking around much.
It might be true that they hang out at the 501 a lot, I've bee up there a couple times with a group of 11 or 12. It seems like the meeting place hops around to different bars.
i've only been here a little while, but i'd be glad to share the little i know if the foreigner scene here, feel free to pm |

I'll post when I hear something. I'm sure they're all meeting up at some bar friday or saturday night. There's also beach trips pretty regular I think. I only met a bunch of these guys two weeks ago, and there's been a beach trip both saturdays, so I think thats popular.
but yea, i'll let you guys know when i hear something, and you do the same

I sent a PM to pheel, but I'll make myself known on the public board. I'm in Daesan, which is about a 30 minute bus ride from Seosan. I'm keen to meet more foreigners in Seosan, I can only handle the trip to Seoul a couple of times a month for my social fix. Something closer by would be great. |
