I've heard of these places, but have never stayed in one.
What are they like? Do you get a private room or is it shared? Bed or mat on the floor? Can I store luggage there? How much do they typically run? |

| Yeogwans are private hotel rooms that cost 20-35,000 a night. You can negotiate for longer stays. Goshiwons are like "studying rooms" and you can get one for around 200,000 a month. |

| Goshiwon. About 250 000 a month, own room with bed, cable TV, internet connection, shared bathroom and toilet, free rice in the kitchen (and sometimes eggs). |

Can you rent a goshiwon for 2 -3 weeks? |

yes, but a 3 week rental will be almost the same as a month. Pay the month and don't sweat it. |

I thought this was an interesting post because I'm still pondering what kind of arrangement I'll be able to make in order to find someplace to crash when I come into Seoul from Namyangju where I live.
I was thinking that a jimjilbang was the only answer. And maybe it is. But the idea ocurred to me that maybe I could find somebody who'd like to go 'in together' and share the use of one of these places.
All I want is someplace to lay my head and sleep when I come home late from the salsa clubs. Right now I have to leave the clubs early in order to catch my bus back to Namyangju.
Normally I don't really stay out late dancing. I like to get there around 9pm, dance 2 or 3 hours and them leave (because I usually don't like to dance when it gets excessively crowded). But it would be nice to be able to stay til 11+ or so and then maybe do something else in Seoul.
I don't drink (or very little) and I don't get drunk and crazy. I just like to dance and walk around and look at 'things'.
I could share a place with a guy or a girl. Either way, I mind my own business. Re: expenses......we'd make some sort of arrangement to have the next month paid in advance in order that there be no question about the finances.
Mostly likely I'd be coming in at least once a weekend. More likely twice. During the week it probably would be rare that I'd be coming in....unless I didn't have to teach the next day here at the high school where I work.
My phone number is 010 9122 8095. If this sounds like an arrangement anybody would be comfortable with maybe we could do it.
Dance 4 life,
