every time i make a post, i'm convinced someone has already asked...but i can never find anything with the search. am i just incompetent? probably. but here goes anyway--
1. salsa lessons! where? when? maybe a club? i love the music and desperately want to learn. my dad told me there's a place in itaewon that does a saturday thing, but i have obligations during the day on saturday and can't make it. that all said, if you are a male who can dance comfortably with a girl who is 5'3" and know how or would like to learn...now accepting applications for partners, haha.
2. korean classes! yes, formal classes. i am studying alone, too, but i'm the type of person who needs structure. i need someone to be there to correct me when i say something wrong and force me to study on a regular basis. i realize it can be expensive, but i'd still like to know my options are...again, where, when, how much, etc.
i'm looking for SPECIFICS, please. not "oh, there's this one place in that one part of town that i think might possibly give those kind of lessons..." or "why don't you check this source or that source or ask this person..."
i've already tried searching, and i'd like to hear from some people who know of these things firsthand.
thanks in advance. |

There are several salsa clubs in Hongdae.
Macondo is pretty good. Here's the website:

Hi:
Saw your post and was very encouraged. I've been looking for someone to hang out with at the salsa clubs and start a salsa oriented social circle. I go out a lot but so far always fly solo.
If you want to learn to salsa dance...don't worry. I can also teach you. I enjoy it and I'm good at it too (not bragging....it's just a fact I used to teach salsa in Houston, TX. (where I'm from before here).
I also agree with your comment about it being hard to find stuff with the search function. Frankly I don't think it works very well at all.
My phone number is 010 9122 8095. I'm going into Seoul later this evening (Saturday). I normally have to leave the clubs early in order to catch my bus back to Namyangju (Onam) where I live but tonight I'm going to try to check out one of the jimjilbangs I saw mentioned on a post here. If it turns out to be OK then I'll be able to stay in Seoul all night. I've been desperately trying to find someplace to crash in Seoul and a jimjilbang might be it.
Also, if anybody else who likes salsa sees this post and would like to meet me someplace, just give me a ring....I'm game for it anytime.
Keep those feet moving!
