While one can certainly understand the utmost concern with which the Korean government takes this very unfortunate act of terrorism, such a move only amounts to playing into the hands of blackmail of the worst sort. Whatever happened to fighting for a principled cause? It seems to be lacking in most Asian militaries.

South Koreans kidnapped in Afghanistan
