Actually, I have to give this country some credit. Despite almost no eforcement of any laws in Korea, this place is not the mess other countries are in similar situations. It's pretty safe.

But there need to be more laws such as a minimum age to enter PC rooms. Enforce an age minimum of 16 years old or make them all smoke free.

Right now I am in a smoky PC room and there's a guy playing computer games with a baby in a carriage beside him. A baby breathing all that second hand smoke. I'd like to say something to him, but I don't think he's so dumb not to realize the bad air quality + his baby = bad news. Anyway, a foreigner's opinion is likely to be greeted with a nervous laugh or a puzzled face because a foreigner's opinion in this country is worth about 10 won.

Compalining to the PC room worker will also probably bring no change as he's making money from the customer.

Rolling Eyes It's frustrating being a foreigner in Korea.

When I was growing up, my Mom used to smoke in the car with all the windows up, Dad driving and three kids in tow. Nobody died of lung cancer.

YET! That is just not a bright thing to say....period! Hmmm....baby, lying in a carriage. Dad paying little to no attention. Loud noise. Smoke everywhere....do you call that good parenting? I freaking hope not!

I am not going to call your mother a bad parent. I dont know her. And I will also say that the effects of smoking were not as known as they are today. But if mom was puffing down a Marly today with the windows up tight, knowing what she knows, is that cool?

The aint the 70's anymore....were a little more informed!

This was in the 1960's. Salems and Kool's were obviously much safer then... Laughing

Ignorance was bliss, wasn't it?.

Still, while I wouldn't take my baby to a smoky PC bang, I'm certainly not gonna sweat it if the restaurant I'm eating at allows smoking. As long as it's not the table next to me. Wink
