| This is mainly directed to long term ex-pats living in Korea... has anyone found a good way to make some extra cash in Korea that doesn't involve teaching English? |

| Lots of major international companies are based here and they usually always have a few foreigners working in them, like me. Try cold calling a few HR departments and see if they're interested in English editors, once in you can work your way up. |

| Well yes obviously, however if you're not qualified in a certain area (accounting, marketing, product research, journalism etc.) and have no work experience you're gonna have to start at the bottom and english editing is the most obvious avenue.. |

| Yes, freelance is also possible, contracting in IY&T or something which has nothing to teaching. |

In Japan the foreigners do a whole variety of work that is virtually closed to them in Korea.
Western women for example make fortunes as hostesses to japanese men. The guys start off teaching then can move into the host of foreign companies based in Tokyo once they speak a little japanese.
In Korea you have only one commodity of value: English. |

In Korea you have only one commodity of value: English.
For those who do not spend any time outside a Western bar, a PC bong or school, let me share some insight: I have several friends here in Busan who came to Korea to teach English but now do something very different. Also, there are many Foreigners who came here without an E-2 visa and never had anything to do with English Education.
1. I met a former English teacher who is now a Computer Programmer on a US military base.
2. Bar Owner (two bars). Korean partner, of course.
3. There are lots of Foreigners in Busan who work in the boating industry. Great money.
4. Ther are lots of Foreigners in Busan who work in the airline industry. Great money.
5. There are a lot of Russian and Eastern European prostitutes (if thats your thing). Great money for the pimp.
6. Don't forget all the military boys. My cousin was stationed here for three years with his family.
7. Professional Athletes. I met two basketball players here in Busan.
8. Japenes and Chinese Teachers (its education, but not English).
9. I know several East Indian, Pakistani and Turks who do not teach English.
10. And dont foget all South East Asians slaving away in sweat shops here in Korea. |

i actually know a guy in the states who pimps out girls.
he tells me about the arraingment, it actually sounds not bad at all. that is... for a single guy. 
i don't think i would ever do that tho. morals, and the type of girls i date, would not date a guy who used to pimp girls. |
