After going years without an ipod it was the auditory travesty that I am forced to endure everyday (as I am sure there are many others of you in the same boat) that finally forced me to brake down and get an ipod not long ago.

Tonight, I'm just a little curious as to what others have on their "Training" Playlist. Yes, I'm looking for some new music ideas. Specifically, I'm looking for fast paced "caffeine substitutes" since I tend to go when the gym first opens.

Always some kind of "Yearmix"

It's a collection of all the best tracks of the year, and they're all 20-30 seconds long. Then it blends to the next song. All fast paced and it really keeps you going.

And spliff was onto something - Armin Van Buuren's State of Trance also does the trick.

I like surf guitar for running.

If you're turning your iPod up high enough to be heard over the gym music, you're probably damaging your hearing.

When I went to the gym, I used to mainly run or use the bike. I loved listening to some Rammstein and Nine Inch Nails and then cruise though on some Red Hot Chili Peppers or Kula Shaker....

I generally like music in the same rpm (is this the right term? hmmm) range so I can run in time with the music I guess....

slayer, black sabbath, terror, american nightmare, pentagram.

basically anything that makes me feel like picking up the gym's stereo system and throwing it to japan.

i can't imagine how listening to a remix of "do you believe in life after love" by cher would make someone want to get in shape.
