If a gyopo marries an American citizen in Korea, does the American spouse get an F2?

If the kyopo has Korean citizenship and can sponsor the VISA, then yes, the spouse would qualify for an F-2.

If the kyopo does not have citizenship, I would assume the spouse would qualify for the F-3 (spouse of a VISA holder), but would need a working VISA as well (an E-2 sponsored by the school).

Hey, I've got an idea! Ask immigration! They've got a nifty website that answers questions! Granted, they may not be perfect answers, but it might work.

I have to agree with kprrok..immigration is the ONLY one that has the answers to immigration questions..and lay off the the sarcasmin your innuendo/roundabout way, you are in calling him an azzhole because you didnt like his flip response.
He gave you a straight up answer. Sure, maybe others with the same exact question/situation as yours did get the F2.
But it all depends on the circumstances and other factors to which only immigration has the answers. And even then, sometimes they are wrong, as we all know.

I thought I was giving a straight answer...at least in the first part.

Yes, I did add a bit of a sarcastic bit at the end, but it's also good advice. Immi is the final judge. They are the only ones that matter.

I would think an American married to a gyopo with an F-4 would NOT get any F-series visa. Since, the gyopo F-4 holder is not actually a Korean citizen.

An F4 isnt citizenship so the answer to your question is No, you would not qualify for an f2.
