Is this a reasonable allowance for housing? The salary would be 3,000,000 and they would provide key money. Thanks Smile

That's a pretty good deal. I had something similar to this last year, except the key money was mine. Rent was 380,000 for a medium sized studio in the middle of Sinchon. Queen size bed, ample room for a sofa, computer desk, kitchenette, with a decent bathroom.

Keep in mind that there will be building fees, utilities, and other costs that will probably take a chunk out of your regular salary.

How much key money are you getting?

Is the 3 million in addition to the 350 key money, or is it figured together?

Despite your answer to either question, I'd say why not just spring for a nicer place that may eat into your paycheck a little bit but be a hell of a lot more comfortable than a piece of sh[i]t officetel? That's what I would do/did.

Depends on where and how nice you want your place to be. I'm living in a 18-pyeong place for 30 million won down, 250,000 won a month, but I'm looking to move on since my crib seems smaller than its listed size.

I guess an officetel would be right for you, though you'd have to pay extra for maintenance or "gwallibee."

This is a good deal, depending on how much key money they give you. If the give you at least 5 million, you will be fine. Anything under that and your rent will be higher than 350,000 for sure. More key money = less rent.
