|
|
I'm a tutor in Oregon and one of my 8 year old Korean students is currently at the top of her class after only a year in the country. She arrived speaking no English and the rate at which she absorbed English is amazing. She is a happy kid who adores learning and has been such a joy to teach.
Her father's work assignment is up in March and the family will be returning to Korea. I'm trying to find out what the best school for her to attend would be in the Seoul metro area. Her parents think that a school offering a curriculum in English would be ideal but they say that since they will have been abroad for only 16 months, that their daughter wouldn't qualify for the best schools. Are there any "best kept" secrets in Seoul that they might not be aware of?
Thanks! |

The international schools would be out, but there should be private schools (not hagwons, but true private schools) that have good English curriculums in Seoul. In Daejeon we have 2 good private schools. I am sure there are a lot more in Seoul. They should be able to find out by searching the internet or talking to friends back in Seoul. |

Though as far away from Seoul as possible, I know an elementary English school on Geoje Island which has seven native English speaking foreign teachers to serve Koreans and waygook children, as the nearby shipyards of Samsung and Daewoo employ 1000+ Europeans, mostly European engineers and project managers. |
