I've dealt with noisy neighbors and they suck. Now I have to deal with a noisy person in the same apartment.

I work 1st shift hours and my girlfriend works 2nd shift hours. I have an hour of travel time to my job so I have to wake up at about 6 to get a breakfast and shower in then get to work on time. The problem is she finishes work at 11:30 or so and has decided that despite all of my desperate sleep deprived pleading that it's ok for her to stay awake until 4, 5 sometimes even 6am...

I feel like I am working a block shift schedule on split-shift sleep.

Rather that simply laying down beside she'll toss and turn, switch off my fan, jerk the blankets away and sometimes even shake me awake... this happens at least twice a night. Usually as soon as she gets home and then another 4 hours later.

It's fucking ridiculuous.

Dump her. She sounds rude and inconsiderate.

Why the hell would she shake you awake?
If you don't want to break up with her, you might consider living apart.

Hey, that is really no big deal. Marry her and she will soften. Have you ever seen the korean azumas........when she becomes one you will have a treasure chest of good times! Just relax and wait for her to age......like wine! Then you will be so happy in life! Wink

I had the EXACT same situation with a girlfriend in Tokyo. If you are living in a one room apartment...it's going to be the death of the relationship, trust me.

The only thing I can offer as advice is to get a bigger place. If you really like this girl and its possible, you need to get a place with a seperate living room and bedroom. She can mess around on the computer or watch tv all night and you can sleep quietly in your bedroom.

If you can't get a bigger place you should honestly considering living apart. I was totally in love with my ex but months and months of having to chit chat with her at 2am in the morning when I had to be up at 6am had me seriously considering strangling her.

Before you break up or move out, try eye shades and ear plugs.

However, I agree these bachelor pads or one room officetels are next to impossible to have 2 or more in them. It must be an Asian or confucian thing that allows a family of 4 to live in the same 2m x 3m apartment as me. I couldn't do it, that' for sure. My wife and I would end up divorced or worse.

Maybe, you do something that annoys her in your sleep. I've shook my ex bf awake when he snored like a loud porker all night. He'll wake up, spray his nose and usually stop doing that. Or when he kept farting loudly, and I'll wake up from either loud continuous fart or snoring sounds.

Then he got mad at ME for waking him up. Sometimes, he would fart really weird, that so much air bursts out of his behind, that his hips would move couple inches away from the original position, like a rocket movement effect. Even he'd wake himself up. At least I don't fart or snore all night. I really can't stand snorers.

I even went to the living room trying to sleep, but I could still hear both those sounds. Maybe you should have separate blankets if she continues to be a blanket thief. My last guy would put on ear plugs, if he really wanted to get undisturbed rest. Maybe you should invest in those ear muff sound protection things that hunters use.

Be sure to open the windows and turn on the fan when he farts. The deadly fumes could kill you both.
