I'm in the same situation as you at the moment, but I'm not a newbie.

This forum is very helpful but you're going to get quite a variety of answers. Just don't be discouraged by the doomsayers...

The best thing to do is get references on the school if possible. This may be kind of hard with public schools but for private schools, I would not even consider them unless they provided me with contact details of a current teacher working there or someone who has recently left.

Good luck!

I've never worked there, and I'm not entirely sure, but doesn't YBM ECC have split shifts? If it does, I'd turn it down. Not sure about you, but that would be awful for me.

Hi shortajay,

Very good idea to wait, especially because you do get bombarded with contracts. The only one I can help you with is the Chungnam one. I work in the province and the contracts are very good they are among the best you can get in Korea. It is a little out of the way, but Seoul is only an hour and a half hour bus ride away. 22 hours teaching time a week, and the contract is pretty water tight. I am working in Hongsung but have a few contacts eslewhere in Chungnam. So if you can find out where in particular then I can help you more. If you want to send a PM if that would be easier.

As also previously mentioned avoid some of the more sarcastic people on the website, they don't really have much else to do than be condescending, which really helps!!!!

YBM ECC...

There are a lot of branches so you might want to be more specific about that one....
