Hey all,
Where can I get a tattoo? I'm looking to get another, but I don't know where to go. Names/contact info./opinions please.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks. |

I've heard that if you want to get a tat in Korea its best to get it from someone who isn't Korean. This is only because tattoos are rare and considered dodgy here, and without mainstream acceptance both talent and sanitation are a bit lacking. I've got a couple of friends who've gotten tattoos from Japanese crew here, but sorry I don't know exactly where. Better yet, just go to Japan. |

(1) Go to Itaewon
(2) Go to that Russian restaraunt
(3) Look out the window
(4) You will see a sign outside a building in the alley behind it that says in English "Piecings and Tatoos" |

I heard from a cow-orker that there was a good place in the Ewha University area. I'll ask him again for directions. I've been meaning to get another one (I just got my fifth one while on vacation in Canada last month), so hopefully this place is clean. |

the ewha u. area can be confusing the first few times you go.
last week i was there buying summer tops when i heard the distinct buzzzz of a tatooing tool.
the storefront was peircings oriented with a stock of trendy jewelery for sale but there was more to this place than could readily be seen.
i didn't get to peek behind the curtain though (too crowded). |

I've never met a foreign tattoo artist in Korea.
Most of the guys I know are fairly private and kind of picky about who they take as customers. |

Only criminals have them here so you might want to ask at the local prison. |

I've met a fair proportion of barmaids who have tattoos.
Maybe you could ask barmaids. |

Go wherever there are American soldiers. One of my students recently got a tattoo in Bosan-dong (Camp Casey) in Dongducheon. |

not true. one of my coworkers got tattooed here and the drummer in my band gets tattooed at least once a month here. both law-abiding citizens.
steer clear of the anachronisms, kiddo. |
