Sookmyung Women's University offers classes on Saturdays that are only 1,000 won. The lessons weren't stellar, but you're only paying a dollar and they were good for learning the basics. Unfortunately I forget what time exactly the classes are... I *think* it's something like 3 - 3:30 pm until 5 pm.
There's also a class in Seobinggo at Onuri Church. The classes are actually quite good... they have a text book that they use (unlike at Sookmyung), so the classes are a bit more structured. The textbook is 20,000 won and the lessons are something like 15,000 won for three months. The classes are on Saturdays from 11:30am - 1 pm (but they're on summer break right now... I think they restart in Sept). There's a break and they give you free drinks and snacks. They also sometimes arrange field trips (i.e. to Suwon fortress). It's maybe not as good as taking a course at one of the universities or a place like YBM, but it's a lot cheaper. |

Yonsei University offers a night class from Oct-Dec It's three days per week and designed for people working here. I think it's 800,000 won Good way to meet some other foreigners too. |

migrant workers' centers offers free korean classes to foreigners... they also provide free materials (books, tapes)... there is one near shinseoldong station but the classes are offered at all centers... you might want to try the shinseoldong branch as there are caucasians (australians) who study there... |
