I've already told off one recruiter regarding a bad contract, and I've since been offered an EPIK contract supposedly for Busan. Of course, I've heard location isn't guaranteed, so I'm suspicious again. Between that, housing deposit, and rumors of severance pay ripoffs, I'm not so sure about this one either.

I'm trying to be diligent in my research, but I haven't found a contract yet that looks trustworthy. Do I have to know people to get anywhere with this, or am I just not looking hard enough?

Did EPIK tell you that you were being placed in Busan? I've spoken with a few recruiters that have informed me that all ps in Busan are filled. EPIK did want to place me in Gyeongnam province..but they weren't willing to disclose the exact location. I applied directly at GEPIK and the Korean coordinator asked for so much additional info (passport page, letters of recs, etc) and after I submitted those documents through email, she just ignored me. How friendly, eh?

I found a public school position in the gyeonggi province through another recruiter. It's a decent contract. Small city of 200,000 but small class sizes...max num of students is 15. Nice two bedroom apartment. I'm excited to get started....hopefully everything goes smoothly ^_^

Good luck! My job search was very tiring as well. I used at least 10+ recruiters to be honest Very Happy Oh well...glad its over.

Good work KYC. I think there's definately something to be said for waiting and sifting thru the bad contracts.

Boreal, if you don't mind a small city with about 60 000 people. There is the Chungnam Province and the contracts are good. Good holiday, pay etc. No housing deposit, 400 000 settlement allowance. I think there's a job coming up in the summer because someone I know is finishing. I found my job thru www.tenetkorea.com.
