anyone been?
haven't been to a water park in over 10 years, and fancied doing something a bit different on my day off. |

I was there (2 years ago?). It's like Typhoon Lagoon from Disney World but much more crowded. It's a nice place but pricy. Correct me if I'm wrong (cuz I didn't pay for it but saw my sister shell out the cash) but it was about W80,000 per person.
The doomed cleavage in SK thread was where Caribbean Bay was previously mentioned and endo said it was stocked with eye candy. I, unfortunately, arrived on "Free ajummas and children" Day, or at least it seemed like it.
Oh and don't forget your goggles, swimming cap, and camera. |

Way, way, way, way too packed at this time of year. I had bruises all over my legs and arms from getting kicked by people trying to do full-out freestyle strokes in the middle of the wave pool.
The slides and rides are decent, but the lines are too long.
One thing I did find kind of cute/entertaining is when all the little kids scream in unison when the foghorn goes off (signals a big wave). However, after about 20 minutes even that got old.
If there were about 30% of the crowd, it would be a great time. It's like any other recreational thing here...just too packed. |

I went two weeks ago and it was great fun.... altho as previous posters have pointed out, way too packed.
The wave pool was interesting... about 5,000 Koreans floating in life jackets, waiting for 3 waves that would be pumped out every 90 seconds or so. I tried to go past my waist in the wave pool and almost got attacked by 3 lifeguards.
One thing I found extra silly was the swimming cap rule. I shave my head down to 6mm, but wasn't allowed on any of the waterslides without a cap on. C'mon, it's a frickin waterslide. And my hair is 6mm long. Meanwhile, most of the Korean girls were allowed on with a bandana tied around their head and hair down to their waist.
The tube rides were good. I found the trick was to get in line with a single tube. Only took about 5-10 mins before getting to the top. Me and my girl waited a couple of times with double tubes and it took at least 30-40 mins each time. Body slides were horribly busy. They have 4 big body slides all side-by-side that looked awesome... went up to wait in line and was informed by a worker that I'd have to wait 2.5 hours to get to the top.
By far the best part of the day for me was the lazy river. Best lazy river I've been to (in?). Altho it was too crowded and we couldn't get tubes, so we rented life-jackets (which also turn out to be fun in the wave-pool) and just floated around. The current of the lazy river was faster than most I've been to before (maybe it was because there were so many people in it churning the water in the same direction), and there were a couple of pretty cool grottos.
Oh ya, the food was decent (altho pricey), and they sold ice cold beer for 3000 won all over the park (Hite Prime Max). |

Go on a Saturday, if you're a dude (or even a girl (or a dude) who's interested in Korean or GI men).
Anyways, when I went it was mostly young people there 20-30, and the girls were fantastic!!!
I can't say enough about it.
A hot Korean girl in a bikini with high heels!
The only thing close to that is the dancers at Lotte World.
In conclusion, amusement parks in Korea are where you will see hot chicks! |
