This will be my first TESL experience. A recruiter from ATC has offered me a position in a public school in one of four counties in Chungnam. I had stated that my preference would be to NOT be in a big city. I am semi-retired and not looking for nightlife. I need to choose between the four counties and would really like to hear from someone that has worked in the area. Thanks. |

If you don't want to live in a big city, just make sure you don't end up in Cheonan. |

Butlerian is basically right: Cheonan is about the only "big" city there. Be warned, though: I got my first Korean job in Chungnam and said I didn't care if I was in a big city or not. As they say "Be careful what you wish for...you might get it." Unless you're serious about studying Korean, you might find a smaller place mind-numbingly boring. I did! I'm in a big city now and generally happier. |
