|
|
I've just unfortunately left a W100,000 check issued from Nonghyup Bank...which is both my employers' and my bank...today while running errands. I briefly retraced the few businesses I went by but they kindly told me it wasn't found. I think I may have just carelessly dropped it out of my wallet or trying to juggle the many things I was carrying in the street. Dumb-ass maneuver on my part.
I'm guessing, whoops...lesson learned. But, I do happen to know the exact check number and not too much time has passed.
Has this ever occured to you, and how did you handle the situation? I know it's only W100,000 and I'll definitely be more careful in the future, but it might be good for others to know as well...
cheers! |

| You are screwed. That money will be spent if found. All a person needs to do is show their ID card to spend the money. |

| The person using the check is supposed to provide their contact info and national I.D. number. You might have a shot at getting your money back. Go to the bank. |

| My very smart Korean friend told me that 100,000 won checks are not replaceable, but the 1,000,000 won checks are. I have no personal experience, I recommend you ask you bank. |

| If you know the serial number and you can get it cancelled. If not...you are screwed. |

There's a lot of BS in this thread.
What's to stop a person getting a 100,000 won check, writing someone else's details on the back (how many times does your ID actually get checked?), and then calling the bank to say you lost it?
Your money is gone. |

| Never hurts to ask the bank. I have always seen I.D. checked when cashing the supyo. |
