This may have been discussed before, but what is this keep the door open, thing?
Even in many air-conditioned places and almost everywhere!
At my bank yesterday the outer door was open and the door to the ATM room had a rope KEEPING the door open. These are usually cool places to go on a hot day!
The door at my Villa is always kept open so the posters feel free to come in I guess. |

They'll keep the damn doors open when it's freezing, too.
The doors were open, but the AC AND floor heating were on. "Why is the AC on?"
Stupid coteacher who once had her own hogwon but spoke some of the worst English I've ever heard from an English teacher, "Because it hot outside."
"Why is the floor heat on?"
"It cold inside." |

It has to do with the korean tribute catalog......item IV Section 2D
Here is a translation:
All public and private doors must be left open for at least 5 hours EACH DAY in honor of KIM CHEE BONG who died trying to liberate the island of Dok Do from the Japanese army in 1943. Winter and Summer and Spring and FAll, (yes, we have 4 seasons!) must all be used to attribute this respect. |
