well...if you play guitar and can offer me lessons, that is. or you know someone who does. or a place that does. in english, of course.

i've been playing on and off since a kid, so i've taught myself a lot of stuff...i don't consider myself a beginner anymore, so keep that in mind. let me know your rates and location, please. i'm in seoul, west city of the city.

You should title this thread something like "I Need Guitar Lessons" or something. Wasted a click.

Now I'm wasting even more time just typing this. Wow. I should probably stop... Wow, twenty-five seconds... keeps adding up... %!#%

jlaskie--What kind of stuff do you like to play? I think lessons are highly overrated. Learn the songs you like--that's the best teacher.

If you're into country or alt rock let me know as that's what I usually play (admittedly, not very well).

Lessons are important to develop technique. Some of the best lessons I've had were ones where I was taught how NOT to do something. A lot of self-taught guys carry their bad habits all the way through to the advanced level and then find it extremely difficult to get rid of them.

I thought for a second this thread was about women. Not long ago, one of my Korean friends sent me a text when she was a bit drunk along the lines of "I want you, you know what I want" Laughing

to the OP, send a pm to Harpeau on this site. Not sure if he still teaches guitar lessons on the side, but he builds'em, so he'll definitely be able to direct you to a teacher

How can anyone give you lessons when you're in Boston. Pretty far to go if you ask me.

Too true. I hate it when famous rock stars say you don't need lessons. That's a bunch of B.S. I have a friend who never took lessons. He still hits the strings too hard; he doesn't play in tune; he never bothered to learn barr chords (or even basic open chords, for that matter);he doesn't strum correctly; when he bends stings, he only uses one finger, and he doesn't alternate pick!

So, yeah, lots of musicians should take some lessons so that they don't develop bad habits.
