700,000 won to yen? No problem.
Yes, you can use bank checks. |

What about US travelers' checks? Is there a limit and would it be a problem exchanging them for won at ICN? |

You people are cracking me up with this "is there a limit" question.
How much are planning on changing? $50,000? $100,000? $500,000? Then it might be a problem. Your measly $1000 T/C ain't gonna break the bank.
US T/C's to Won are fine. Just change enough to get out of the airport until you can get to a regular bank. Airport exchange rates are among the worst you'll find in Korea. |

Exchanging Money
If you have not already exchanged U.S. dollars into Korean won, you can easily do so at facilities in the airport. You will probably need to have some Korean money to pay for transportation from the airport to your final destination. Generally, because the exchange rate of banks at airports is higher than banks in the city, it may be wise to simply obtain the amount necessary for transportation fare and exchange the rest of your money somewhere in the city. Alternately, you can use your credit card at an ATM, which will probably be the cheapest and simplest way to exchange money.

Higher as in you buy higher. Not you get higher. |

Why? Pay for the exchange twice (won - $ & $ - baht) plus in Thailand you'll pay a service charge for cashing T/C's.
Just change won for baht here at your bank and be done with it. The airport exchange rate will always be less favorable.
Whatever you do, don't take won out of Korea. Nobody wants it. |
