Quote:
NEW YORK, July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Charles Merrill, the artist who recently edited the Holy Bible with a black marker and pair of scissors, has lately burned a rare Islamic Holy Book, The Koran, valued at $60,000.00, in an undisclosed Chicago location. "The purpose of editing and burning Abrahamic Holy Books is to eliminate homophobic hate," Merrill stated. "Both ancient books are terrorist manuals."

More money than brains, I guess.

Unfortunately, I've been told that burning a koran is one of only a few "proper" ways to dispose of it.

I'm glad that he is directing his anger multiculturally.

It's also the most respectful way to dispose of a flag that's been soiled.

Perhaps we need an amendment about this, too.

This strikes me as about as entertaining as the KLF's Burning of a Million Quid.

Not much more.

Burned up a $60,000 rare book to make a political point?

Fanatic.

First the Taliban dynamite giant, ancient Buddhas. Now this guy burns a rare Koran.

Is this a trend or just a coincidence?

They also withdrew and destroyed all their records and Cds.

That cash could've at least been given to charity.

Anyhow..isn't there a law against damaging or defacing the queens legal tender?

Loss to humanity?

I'd have to say the ending of your ban is the greatest loss.

"Both are Terrorist manuals" ??? So now that a gay person burns a Koran its o.k amongst the liberal elites. A person must be part of a special interest group to get away with this sort of fanatical crap. Since when has the bible ever justified the killing of innocents, imposing a religious code on the whole world, homicide bombings, pediofilea, sexism, inequalities? The koran and Islam are a stain on civilization and must be fought at all costs.

For everything that you accuse the Koran of, you can find something that undermines each accusation. Alternatively, you could also accuse the bible of each of these things, particularly the pedophelia, which, as I've demonstrated before, is a modern sexological term that can't be retroactively applied 2000 years ago. But, hey, whatever floats your boat.

So you want to fight Islam at all costs? Fight is a pretty general word, how far are you willing to go with this? I know a couple of Muslims in Seoul who'll take you up on the offer...
