How much would one expect to pay for a used scooter?
I wouldn't want anything too extreme - maybe 50cc or 100cc.
A used scooter would be more practical.
How much roughly would something like this go for? |

Yeah? I've seen some at 150cc advertized on this site for that amount or less. I guess I was hoping for cheaper haha.

I agree.
Safer, more comfortable, can carry much more stuff/passengers, and Korea only has about 4 months per year when the weather is nice for biking.
Right now, in Korea, Daewoos made before GM took over are totally sniffed at by Koreans. Used car dealers will take a really low price to get rid of one. |

To get up the mountains you need at least a 100 cc in 2-stroke or 125cc in a four stroke.
I was seeing crappy 100 and 110 four stroke motorcycles for 550 to 700 with around 5000 km on them.
Scooters were around 700 to 800 for 100cc 2-stroke. I paid 750 for my 100cc rebuild scooter, but maybe I could have gotten it cheaper If I had been better at bargaining.

yup
if you pay a penny more than 500,000 for a used scooter then you'd better get a glitzy fancy shiny modern one with low mileage and looks like new
there's absolutely no need to pay 800,000 won for a USED scooter in this country when there is so many options at cheaper rates |

How could you expect to pay less than 300,000? That's dirt cheap. If you were to buy one in the US, you'd need a license, insurance, paperwork, etc. All of which are expensive. Here, they just give you the keys. And when you are finished with your scooter, you can sell it for about the same price you paid for it. I've probably saved money with one, not lost.
Cars are fine, but the traffic here is brutal. The best part of having a scooter is no red lights. Fastest transportation for any city. |

You need insurance and tags here also to be legal, but people did make fun of me for getting it. |

| well how much is a cheap car? like a 10-12 year old kia pride...maybe 500,000? are those reasonably reliable? i'd love to buy an old beater as long as it ran good. |

I think you could get a scooter for less than 300 000 if you get it off a friend. My old one is going to my friend for free; all he has to do is pay for the repairs (which should be at least 100 000).
No better feeling than weaving through gridlocked traffic. |
