I've been reading about the American beef finally being allowed in. Has this brought the price down? I'ts hard to tell here, in part because I had passed on the beef before after a quick mental calculation of the price in dollars fried my synapses.
So I was wondering what others are seeing?
How much are you paying for beef?
What are you getting: ground, steak, roast, stew?
Is lean meat cheaper than fatter beef, like with the pork?
What's the best deal, and are you biting yet? |

What I would consider "lean" ground beef is selling for 1750won/100grams today at Lotte Mart in Nowon Seoul. This is the most I've ever paid for ground beef in Korea since 2001. The beef was from Australia. Costco has Australian beef for much cheaper, but I find the cut is of poorer quality - like ground chuck or something like that. Haven't seen any American beef back on the shelves yet. Prices are high right now for whatever reason, it would seem. |
