I just went into a travel agency and they said that insurance companies wont allow foreigners to buy travel insurance in Korea. Is this true? |

There are a couple of issues here:
1. Yes, you can buy insurance as a foreigner. I always buy mine at the airport. There are MANY different companies. I usually get it from AIG.
2. I was once told that if you were flying home to your HOME COUNTRY, then you could not buy travel insurance. We were dubious and kept on asking. Then we discovered that yes, you can, indeed, buy travel insurance, even if you were flying home. You just have to go to a special counter for it.
Then this last trip we went and bought travel insurance for my daughter and we were told that I was able to buy travel insurance for me, too, eventhough I am flying back (to one of) home.
So your travel agent probably doesn't have the most updated info, or he is just lazy and doesn't want to deal with it.
The BEST place, in my opinion, to get insurance is at the airport because they are so used to dealing with it. We usually get it done within 10 minutes. |

They are everywhere. They are like newspaper kiosks... beside the departure areas (passport control). |

the airport is a good second choice, but ive always found it LOTS cheaper to buy online (as some of the posters have suggested). |
